The famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo bought a Padel Club in Lisbon. The announcement was made after completing the deal at Cidade do Padel in Oeiras. This marks the footballer’s second investment in Portugal.
Ronaldo Buys Lisbon Padel Club
The former Real Madrid legend, Ronaldo has again shown his interest in Padel. This time, he has bought a Lisboa Racket Center located in Alvalde. The announcement was made after he bought the Cidade do Padel. The Cidade do Padel will be opened in Oeiras by the year 2026. Now, the Portuguese footballer has made a deal to buy the Lisboa Racket Center, in Alvalade. This news was reported by the New in Town website.

Lisboa Racket Center has a prime location for sports activities. It is located next to Parque José Gomes Ferreira. The compound offers various facilities like padel, tennis, gym, squash, and bar courts. Previously, this property was owned by the company, Van Veggel, Campos de Tênis de Lisboa. It was built nearly 40 years ago and has great architecture.
Property Generates 1.3 Million Euros Net Revenue
The property gained a lot of revenue due to the sports facilities that it offers. A record profit of 287,400 Euros was noted only for the last year alone. This is 34 % more profit than the one compared to the year before that. In terms of revenue, it increased from 800,000 Euros in 2019 to 1.3 million Euros in the year 2023. The revenue increased drastically over the span of 4 years. The company database believes that it is expecting even more revenue inflow in the upcoming years.
There was a positive net position at the end of last year. The net assets of the property were more than 1 million Euros during the last year. This shows the profit that this property generates for all the facilities that it offers.
Ronaldo Also Invested In Cidade do Padel
This is the second investment by Cristiano that was announced after a year of investing in Cidade do Padel. He invested through a partnership with a businessman Filipe Botton. CR7 is the company that is owned by Ronaldo. This company invested along with Lusofinanca in Oeiras. The work began very late due to a delay in acquiring the license for the land with the Chamber of Oeiras.
After acquiring the license, the work began in December and will be completed at the beginning of the year 2026. The plan includes the construction of a megaproject located right next to Jamor. This project is scheduled for 20 years and can be extendable to five-year terms for two times.
FPP Leader Happy To Partner With Ronaldo
FPP believes that this step is crucial for promoting sports in Portugal. This investment will bring more young people near the sports by providing high-class facilities. There are already 250,000 people who use this facility, but the new investment will bring more people. The President of FPP, Ricardo Oliveira stated:
It’s a dream come true. We couldn’t have better partners. A great businessman and the best sportsman in the world.
The President believes that this investment is a ‘winning bet’ for sports. It is believed that the inauguration of the infrastructure is unique in Portugal. The company has planned to inaugurate the facility within the first 6 months of the year 2025. Cidade do Padel is planned to be built on 15,000 square meters. The facility will comprise 17 courts within the compound. Ricardo further stated:
It will be a strong investment, over five million euros. But Padel City is here to stay. It will be able to host a European Championship, a World Cup, and events of a global dimension. The importance of Padel City is huge, especially if we think that it is a recent sport
Ricardo appreciated the role of Oeiras City Council in the completion of this project. Isaltino Morais is working on behalf of the city council and his support is commendable. He states:
