Portuguese Company SunEnergy Will Invest 20 Million Euros In Renewable Energy In Portugal And Spain

Portuguese company SunEnergy has announced an investment of 20 million Euros in Portugal and Spain. This investment will be made in the renewable energy sector. The company will start a new project in 2025 which will be invested by the company itself.

The executive president of SunEnergy, Raul Santos, has announced the investment in Portugal. The company, which has headquarters in Coimbra, aims to make investments of more than 1 million Euros for the charging stations. These charging stations will be placed in both Portugal and Spain. This is just a part of the 20 million Euros investment made by the company. Raul has stated:

The group currently has 20 million euros available to invest in the Iberian Peninsula, in the areas of solar energy, charging stations for electric mobility, and energy storage, among other investments to improve energy efficiency.

SunEnergy has a total employee of 130 people, which includes 15 engineers. These employees are professionals who are hired from 30 different delegations. All of them operate under a single franchise which involves the regions of the Azores and Madeira. Raul Santos further stated:

We will diversify our operations with the installation and operation of electric vehicle charging stations, an area in which we intend to make several investments as early as 2025.

Initially, this project was launched in 2009 and there was no mention of renewable energy or solar energy. The company started its initiatives 15 years ago but now, it wants to move onto renewable projects within Portugal. SunEnergy had no competition before but now it faces some competition among its competitors.

SunEnergy Aims For Renewable Solutions

The Portuguese company, SunEnergy is a specialized company for citizens as well as companies. It also aims to promote the use of renewable energy along with solar energy in Portugal. Raul gave his views as follows:

We were experiencing the difficulties inherent in starting any innovative activity, starting with very small projects, but we currently have 185,000 solar panels installed. The mission of promoting the importance of renewable energy and solar energy in particular.

Portugal has many homes which are powered by solar energy. The future of renewable energy is the answer to many questions that involve electricity. The founder of the company also believes that the company has worked hard to promote the usage of renewable energy. He believes that this is one of the proudest moments if Portugal is opting for renewable energy.

SunEnergy Working On Portugal Project

According to the company, the branch network is working hard to ensure that citizens opt for the Portuguese company for renewable solutions. The solutions of the company will be brought within the territory of the country.

Raul Santos is overlooking the project very carefully. He has a biochemistry graduation from the University of Coimbra himself. Santos further had an MBA postgraduate degree in management as well. This is what makes him capable of overseeing the project. He stated:

Each project is different, and our engineers develop and work on the needs of each client. [Delegations] are legally independent entities, with the brand being the aggregating element.

SunEnergy expanded its company to Spain in the year 2023. The revenue of the company increased to 15 million Euros during the same year. This represents a 30% increase compared with the previous year which is 2022.

The company is also aiming to invest in the energy storage area to gatekeep renewable energy. To achieve that, the company has managed to install a thousand lithium batteries of 5MWh capacity. It aims to further increase the number of batteries in the future as well. Raul Santos replied:

We do not intend to work on these large solar parks. Our focus has been and will continue to be on decentralized production across these fields, which is what we truly believe in.
