Portugal Property Prices Have Been Stabilized In October And November

The property prices in Portugal have been stabilized for the month of October as compared to last month. Prices of houses rose in 8 major district capitals while stabilizing in 2 major cities.  

House Prices Stabilized This Month

Portugal is a dream location to spend the rest of your life. The scenic views with beautiful landscapes make this country one of the best destinations to live in. However, there has been an increase in the price of property for the last few months. These prices have now been stabilized in the month of October. Idealista website has shared data where they have shown the prices in Porto and Lisbon to decrease as compared to before.

The property prices have been reduced by 0.1% compared to the previous months. The median cost for buying a house was 2,733 Euros per square meter. These prices have stabilized by the end of October. The overall increase in the prices of Portugal was 9.4% per annum.

House Prices Rise In 8 District Capitals

Out of the 20 Portuguese capitals, the prices of houses rose in 8 of these capitals. These prices increased in the month of October. The most sudden rise has been observed in Faro, Santarém, and Vila Real. It was more expensive to buy a house this month compared to last month in these areas. The following district capitals have seen a rise in prices:

  • Faro (4.1 %)
  • Santarém (2.7 %)
  • Vila Real (2.1 %)
  • Guarda (1.8 %)
  • Ponta Delgada (1.7 %)
  • Beja (1.6 %)
  • Coimbra (1.3 %)
  • Évora (1.1 %)

The prices of property were stable in some of the other cities in Portugal. There were 9 cities whose property values were stable. These cities are as follows:

  • Funchal (0.3 %)
  • Viseu (0 %)
  • Braga (0 %)
  • Castelo Branco (-0.1 %)
  • Bragança (-0.2 %)
  • Lisbon (-0.3 %)
  • Portalegre (-3.8 %)
  • Aveiro (-2.9 %)
  • Viana do Castelo (-0.8 %)
