EasyJet Airline Announces Two New Routes & Increased Capacity

The EasyJet airline has announced two new routes for the next year. These routes will take passengers from Portugal to two different countries. The company has also announced an increased capacity of passengers on their flights.

Two New Routes Announced

EasyJet Airline has planned to start two new routes in the summer of 2025. These routes will flow between Bordeaux and Faro and between Lisbon and Milan Linate. There is already an airbase of EasyJet in Milan Linate which will start another connection between the two countries. More people can travel between Portugal and Italy due to the introduction of this new route. Linate airport is the closest one which is located near Milan city. The airport is located just 8 kilometers from Milan.

This new route will be an opportunity for more business and tourism in both countries. Right now, there is only one pre-existing route which is Milan-Malpensa Airport. EasyJet flights will take off every day except Saturday. It is expected that the airline will have 4 daily flights from Lisbon to Milan and back.

The second newly announced flight route is from Bordeaux to Faro and back. This new route will start on 29 June and will run in the months of July and August. It will have weekly flights every Sunday. The airline company has also announced some of the other new routes which will connect Portugal with other countries.

EasyJet has already established routes in Cape Verde. The flights will take off from Lisbon and Porto and their destination will be the island of Sal. These flights have been functional since October and will continue till the summer of 2025. These flights are now available for booking. The flights to the island of Sal will be the first ever routes in the history of the company that were taken from Portugal to sub-Saharan Africa.

Increased Capacity Of EasyJet

The company has announced an increase in the capacity of flights taking off from Portugal. All flights operating from Porto airport to the island of Sal will have more capacity than their normal flights do. The Island of Sal will have EasyJet flights for the first time ever. Some of the additional routes can also be opted for which include Funchal, Porto Santo, Paris Orly, Zurich, Sicily Palermo, and Nantes.

EasyJet is aiming to make non-stop flights from Algarve to Switzerland. These flights will be flown from 1st April from Faro airport all the way to Zurich airport. The company will launch these flights two times a week. It will take off every Monday and Friday. EasyJet will also be operating flights from Madeira to the United Kingdom from 2 June. These flights will fly from Funchal to Luton and back. The company aims to run these flights twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The General Director of EasyJet Portugal, José Lopes has announced the new routes in the following statement:
