These 10 doctors have been part of this institution for a long time. It is indeed a loss to the Local Health Unit to lose 10 doctors in a day. Although, the ULS of Sintra/Amadora has stated that the resignation will be in effect from 31 December 2024. All the doctors who had resigned are still working in the institution currently. Their resignation will be accepted from the new year. The Local Health Unit stated:

Ministry Is Looking To Resolve The Issue
The resignation of these 10 doctors along with the head of Surgery is not accepted because efforts are being made to solve the issue. The Government Ministry is looking very closely into this matter. Losing so many doctors in a day is a great loss. All the higher management are making efforts to resolve this issue.
Secretary General of the Independent Doctors’ Union (SIM), Nuno Rodrigues, believes that there will be some drawbacks if these doctors resign. An institution will be affected when so many doctors resign together. The name of the Local Health Unit is also being affected due to the reinstitution of the unprofessional doctors. These doctors who plan on resigning from the new year take care of a lot of patients. The Ministry is trying its best to resolve the issue but if the situation leads to resignation, a lot of patients will have to be shifted to some other hospital.
Problems Faced By ULS Sintra/ Amadora
The Health Unit in the ULS Sintra/ Amadora serves a lot of patients every day. Although the number of doctors is enough but there is no space to cater to a large number of patients. It’s a complicated and complex situation with no easy solution.
